Strictly Come Dancing took an awkward turn during Sunday's results show. During the latest instalment, host Claudia Winkleman caught up with the celebrities and their professional partners to hear what was coming up next week in their dances.

Speaking to pro dancer and his celebrity partner Sam Quek, Claudia said: "You've got a great song next week!" to which Nikita revealed they were dancing a Samba to Shakira. Nikita then decided to start singing a version of Hips Don't Lie remixed with Whenever, Wherever.

However, Claudia was forced to interrupt as she said: "Nikita, I love you so much but it was the other Shakira song..." to which Nikita was left red-faced as he put his face in his hands to which his co-stars were left in hysterics.

Nikita then struggled to sing the song in question which prompted more laughter before Claudia again interrupted with: "I love you..." while his co-stars added: "Shakira, I'm sorry." Responding to the hilarious blunder, Claudia said: "It's okay, she's super busy, that'll do!"

Viewers were left in hysterics over the moment, taking to , now X, to share their thoughts. One person said: "Omfg I am absolutely CRYING at Nikita singing the wrong shakira song absolute SCENES in the Clauditorium tonight #Strictly", a different account put: "Not Nikita singing the wrong Shakira song #strictly", another wrote: "how did nikita get the wrong song #strictly" while a different account added: "So this results show isn’t live & yet they left in Nikita’s mistake about the song?! That’s cruel! #Strictly."

It comes after the opener for the themed-episode on Saturday night featured the professional dancers transformed into Minions from the Despicable Me franchise with Kai Widdrington dressed as Gru, the grouchy former supervillain and protagonist of the film series, while the other professionals donned yellow bodysuits to mimic the tiny henchmen.

Meanwhile, the celebrities and their dance partners put on movie-inspired routines complete with incredible costumes. However, on Sunday, it sadly saw Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones leave the hit One dance competition after finding themselves in the bottom two with Paul Merson and Karen Hauer.

Ahead of the weekend, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk were due to perform the Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2 before Nick pulled out on Friday due to an injury.

It comes as last weekend Olympian Tom Dean and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova became the first pair to leave the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 12 October at 18:20pm.
