Send Push

London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham face off in the Premier League later today, with Spurs looking to win at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2018.

Both sides return from the international break refreshed, but there's more on the line in today's clash for Chelsea, with the Blues looking to continue their battle for a Champions League place next season. Spurs will have more of a focus on the Europa League for the remainder of the season, but picking up a win against rivals Chelsea and putting an end to their poor Stamford Bridge record.

The last meeting between the two sides was one of the games of the season, with Chelsea beating Spurs 4-3 in north London. The Blues are expected to have Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke back, while Lucas Bergvall should be available for Ange Postecoglou's side, despite leaving the Sweden camp early during the international break.

We simulated Chelsea vs Tottenham to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions and transfers.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; James, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.

We predict that Spurs could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Bergvall, Maddison; Odobert, Solanke, Son.

Tottenham were gifted the chance to go ahead nine minutes in when Wesley Fofana's under-hit backpass was cut out by Son Heung-min, but with Dominic Solanke in support, the forward got caught in two minds and played a poor pass to his teammate instead of shooting, allowing Chelsea to get back and deny the Lilywhites an early goal. After the early scare, the Blues started to take control, and they took advantage by opening the scoring before the break.

Jackson made a fantastic run in behind the Spurs defence, with Pedro Neto sliding a pass forward down the left flank for the striker to chase. After picking up the ball, Jackson sized up Cristian Romero, rounded the defender, and once in the box he powered his shot past the 'keeper to mark his return from injury with a big goal.

Moments after the restart Jackson was pulled down inside the box to win Chelsea a penalty, but Palmer failed to convert the spot-kick, with the Englishman striking the post from the penalty spot. Spurs started to see much more of the ball in the final 20 minutes of the game, but they were poor in the final third and barely troubled the Blues as Chelsea picked up a big 1-0 win against Postecoglou's side.

EA FC 25 predicted final score: Chelsea 1-0 Spurs
