Arsenal have been handed an update regarding their reported interest inEintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
Ekitike, who has four years left on his current deal, featured 33 times in Germany's top-flight last season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists. Playing a crucial role in Dino Toppmoller's side, he helped his team finish third in the Bundesliga and qualify for the Champions League as a result.
The Frenchman also fired Frankfurt to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, netting four goals and setting up three in 12 games. His impressive performances haven't gone unnoticed, with lots of top clubs said to be chasing his signature.

The forward has recently emerged as a reported target for the Gunners as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his frontline. However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on Ekitike in his newsletter for GiveMeSport and it does not appear that a move to the Emirates Stadium is on the horizon.
"At the moment, I'm told there's no change on Ekitike situation," he wrote. "No concrete update about the striker and Arsenal."
The Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta is also said to be 'considering' former Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, as well as Ekitike. But, the Argentine only moved to the Spanish capital to play for Atletico Madrid last summer.
It has been claimed that Arsenal do not want to splash out on an £84 million-rated forward, but if they can't manage to strike a deal for Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko, Ekitke will then become a possibility. There is Premier League competition to bear in mind in the form of the champions Liverpol, Chelsea and Manchester United.
BILDclaim that Liverpool have held talks with Ekitke's representatives and have let it be known that an attacking addition is among their priorities. Meanwhile, reports on Tuesday evening suggested that Arsenal had reached a breakthrough for Gyokeres.
