The 33-year-old singer, who left the girl band, made up of , and , in 2020, citing mental health struggles, has taken to Instagram with a heartbreaking confession about a conversation she had with a suggested she undergo the procedure.
Sharing a short clip from 's podcast, Sisters in the City, in which they spoke about their own ordeals with cosmetic surgery, the musician said: 'I absolutely adore these two for being so real about this s**t.'
Jesy continued to say that she was very close to getting the procedure two years ago as a 'doctor told me I needed it'. Admitting she was in a 'very insecure' stage of her life and wanted to 'be loved', she thought she could create those emotions within herself if she went through with the body modification.
It wasn't until she 'did real work on my inner self' that she came to understand her insecurities weren't physical but had more to do with her own complicated feelings, and it resulted in her deciding not to get the surgery.

"I'm so thankful that I never got them done because I know I would have regretted it," Jesy wrote in the vulnerable message. "I'm not against anyone having things done if it genuinely is going to make you happy and feel better because everybody needs to live their life how they want to."
Jesy further urged fans only to change their body "if it genuinely is going to make you happy and feel better' and said, 'these things can't be reversed and could cause you to feel worse about yourself."
As a champion of body positivity during her time in the discovered girl band and as a solo artist, the Bad Thing singer added: "We are all born different for a reason, and that's f**king beautiful."
The short clip she reposted further reiterated her message and saw Mandi - who is the sister of former star Anna - vulnerably confess that she 'destroyed' her body with surgical procedures, choosing to tell her story as she 'doesn't want anyone to make the same mistakes as me'.
Mandi continued to say she may look like she has the 'perfect body' on , but she stands in front of the mirror unposed; there are 'issues'. Mandi added: 'I’ve spent all this money on surgery, and I look like s**t'.
The sisters then prompted listeners, especially young women, to think 'really hard' about the option and decide whether it is something they really want as it can come with many complications.
Jesy has been open about her insecurity struggles in recent years, and just last year, she told her fans on Instagram that she is embracing all the 'little things' She said: 'I know it's easier said than done, but the day you stop caring is the day you start living.'
