A body has been found in the search for a who went missing in the early hours of this morning.
Jane Burton, originally from the area, was reported as missing from Walkers Drive, Leigh, at around 2am on Tuesday, November 12. Greater Police launched a public appeal in a desperate bid to help find the missing mum on Tuesday.
A large emergency services presence was reported around Pennington Flash and nearby woodland throughout Tuesday afternoon, around four miles away from where Jane had last been seen, including , paramedics and fire crews.
The search included a huge number of professionals and even involved the use of oolice helicopters searchign from the skies above, along with multiple ambulances and police vehicles, remaining at the scene throughout the afternoon as part of the search.
Concerned members of the public also assisted with a search on Tuesday, however the searches have now been paused after a body was tragically found on Tuesday afternoon, reports
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the body. The has contacted Greater Manchester Police for a comment and we will be publishing further updates as soon as we get them.
