Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have expressed their delight at . The Hollywood duo were "blown away" by the New York-based Allyn family, who amassed their wealth in medical manufacturing.
They also disclosed that they had personally met with representatives of the family, commending their "kindness and commitment". On Wednesday, it was announced that the former owners of medical firm Welch Allyn Inc had purchased a minority stake in the League One club.
The company was under the family's ownership for over a century before being sold in 2015 for $2 billion, after which they shifted their focus to investments. Reynolds and McElhenney could barely contain their excitement in a joint statement, stating that the investment would aid them in achieving their "lofty ambitions", including propelling the Red Dragons into the .

The Allyn family, alongside actors McElhenney and, have made a significant investment through their newly established company, Red Dragon Ventures LLC. This move comes hot on the heels of another major announcement where the same firm was used to secure a majority stake for the Hollywood duo in Wrexham Lager company.
Eric Allyn, manager and chief investment officer of the Allyn's family office, expressed his enthusiasm, saying: "For more than a century, our family has focused on building great companies, while also uplifting wonderful communities.
"Our decades-long efforts in the Syracuse region are similar to what Rob and Ryan have started in Wrexham. We view Red Dragon Ventures as a vehicle to invest in a world-class football club, and, importantly, in the welcoming community of Wrexham."
Since taking over in February 2021, Reynolds and McElhenney have overseen considerable success on the field, with the team securing back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons under Phil Parkinson's management. The dynamic pair are now deepening their ties with the Wrexham area by acquiring Wrexham Lager, which is set to hit shelves in the United States and Canada.
In a YouTube video announcing the news, the co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC left fans buzzing as they declared themselves "Literally speechless," opting to communicate solely through telegraph keys. "As co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC we have learned a lot," McElhenney and Reynolds shared in a joint statement.
