Why Kostas Tsimikas is missing from Greece squad to play England as Liverpool ace left out

Liverpool full-back is reportedly at Wembley today because of illness. He was initially expected to be involved in the UEFA Nations League clash.

According to Giannis Chorianopoulos, who is the editor in chief of the Greek outlet Sportime, Tsimikas is not well enough to be involved in the fixture, as he posted on . Tsimikas is therefore not in the starting line-up or on the bench.

starts for England at right-back while , who was added to the Three Lions' roster this week, is named among the substitutes for the Three Lions. The 23-year-old could make his senior debut for England under Lee Carsley, under whom he worked extensively with England's U21s.

"Trent is the kind of guy who wants to play," Tsimikas to the game. "I'm really happy for him the last couple of games. He plays and always delivers. The numbers in Liverpool speak for themselves. For my opinion, he knows my opinion, for me he is the number one."

"Of course, everybody knows England has the best talent in the world," he added. "I played against many of them for so I know them quite well. We have to give absolutely everything to be 2000 per cent ready and focused."

Tsimikas has played seven times under so far at Liverpool. The 28-year-old full-back has made two appearances and started in the Reds' most recent match, the victory at .

Liverpool faces a big week when the club game returns. On either side of league clashes with Chelsea (home) and Arsenal (away), the Reds travel to Germany to take on RB Leipzig in Europe looking to make it three wins out of three in the Champions League.
