UP Board: The UP Board is the country's largest examination board. The registration process for its 10th and 12th exams began in July and continued until August-September.
Important news has emerged regarding the Uttar Pradesh Board's 10th and 12th board exams to be held in 2026. It is reported that a total of 5.23 million students will appear for the exams this year, across both classes. Of these, 2.75 million students have registered for high school (10th) and 2.479 million students have registered for intermediate (12th). These figures were released by UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh on Tuesday (October 29). Surprisingly, the number of candidates this year has decreased by approximately 2 lakh compared to last year. Furthermore, the number of examination centers is also expected to decrease.
Registration Dates Extended Multiple Times
The UP Board is the largest examination board in the country. The registration process for its 10th and 12th exams began in July and continued through August and September. During this period, the board extended the last date for registration several times to allow more students to fill out the forms. Registration began on July 15, 2025, and continued until August 5 without late fees. Subsequently, registrations were accepted until August 16 with late fees. The board also granted another extension, extending the last date for fee submission to September 1, 2025.
Advance Registration for Classes 9 and 11
The board has also granted advance registration for a total of 49,46,134 students in Classes 9 and 11 to prepare for the upcoming session. This will help the Board plan the exam arrangements, printing of question papers, and setting up centers in a timely manner.
Last Date for Correcting Errors in Application Forms
The Board has given students the opportunity to correct errors in their application forms. Corrections to Class 10 and 12 forms can be made until October 31st. The last date for correcting applications for Classes 9 and 11 is November 5th. Instructions have been issued to students and schools to take these dates seriously.
Preparation of Question Papers and Answer Sheets Underway
Board officials have already begun preparations for the exam. Question paper preparation, moderation, and printing of answer sheets are progressing rapidly. The entire process is being monitored to ensure security and confidentiality.
Will the Number of Centers Also Decrease?
Regarding the number of examination centers, there is a possibility of a reduction. Last year, more than 8,000 centers were set up, but this time the number may drop to around 7,000. Board officials say that the centers will be balanced so that no student has to travel far. However, safety and transparency will not be compromised.
