Apple has officially announced the iPhone 17 launch date, confirming that the highly awaited event will take place on 9 September 2025 at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino. 

The iPhone 17 series will feature four models — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the brand-new iPhone 17 Air — all expected to deliver major design and performance improvements. 

In India, sales of the iPhone 17 will start from 19 September 2025, shortly after the global debut, with pre-orders likely opening on 12 September.

iPhone 17 Pro expected specifications

The Apple iPhone 17 Pro, along with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, is expected to undergo a major design refresh. Leaked renders indicate a striking new look with a camera island stretching across the back panel, housing three sensors and a flash. The Apple logo also seems to have shifted slightly from its usual spot, further highlighting the changes. 

The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera system with a 48MP main lens, a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens — replacing the 12MP telephoto unit seen in its predecessor. For selfies and video calls, Apple may upgrade to a 24MP front camera, doubling the resolution from the iPhone 16 series. 

On the performance front, the iPhone 17 Pro could be powered by the Apple A19 Pro chip, paired with 12GB of RAM. It will reportedly run iOS 26 with a liquid-glass inspired theme. The handset is also tipped to come with a ProMotion OLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, and a slightly larger battery compared to the previous generation.

Leaks indicate that the Apple iPhone 17 Pro could launch in India at around ₹1,34,999 for the 12GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The smartphone is likely to be priced at $1,199 in the USA, AED 4,403 in Dubai, and £886 in the UK.
