Sharon Verma, a stand-up comedian from Bihar, lives in Bandra. A dichotomous act like that sounds promising, and you better believe she delivered when the time came. The comedian has taken the internet by storm ever since her appearance at India's Got Latent, a show where comedian "Samay Raina and the guest judges hilariously critique the untapped, undeniably entertaining 'latent' talents of aspiring performers, testing their self-awareness with a unique scoring system."

Verma was the first act on a recently-aired episode, which has become her claim to fame, thanks to gags about her seemingly out-of-place name, Biharis, consent, and, most importantly, being a "weak, independent woman."
When questioned why she chose to define herself that way, the comic unleashed her wit and reliability. "I'm not able to become a strong, independent woman," Verma told me.
"Why," Raina inquired. Her reply was: "Since I did not have generational wealth, I had to become independent...and I'm at that point where, at any point, I can become dependent."
The audience erupted in applause at the joke, and the judges were persuaded it was not her first time. Verma later disclosed that she has been doing stand-up for five years. Her moment in the spotlight was her witty remark, which resonated with many on social media.
