The restaurant blends time-honoured recipes with modern cooking techniques, taking guests on a flavorful journey across India. 

The name 'Musaafer,' meaning 'traveller' in Urdu, reflects the restaurant's inspiration from a 100-day culinary exploration of India’s regional cuisines.

Founders Shammi and Mithu Malik expressed their gratitude for the prestigious award, with Shammi noting, "This recognition is a reflection of the dedication and effort of our entire team." Mithu added, "We're truly thankful for the local Houston community’s support. Their enthusiasm and adventurous spirit have been key to our success."

The Michelin Guide is a prestigious global restaurant and hotel rating system, originally from France, that evaluates dining establishments based on the quality of their culinary offerings. 

However, India does not currently have Michelin-starred restaurants, as the Michelin Guide has yet to establish a presence in the country.

One Michelin Star signifies a "very good" restaurant in its category, offering an high-quality dining experience.

Some renowned Indian restaurants that have earned Michelin stars outside India include Gymkhana, Vineet Bhatiaand Benares in London as well as Indian Accent and Junoon in New York.
