According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, India is committed to implementing inclusive and proactive actions to mitigate the impact of disasters, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 10-point agenda for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies.
This year's theme is 'Empowering Communities for Disaster Risk Reduction Through Awareness for Behavioural Change', aimed at promoting awareness activities to drive behavioural change within communities residing in disaster-prone areas, supporting the goal of disaster risk reduction.
