Dausa (Rajasthan) [India], November 5 (ANI): Exuding confidence in Maha Vikas Aghadi's victory in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday said that the atmosphere in the state is in favour of their alliance.
"The atmosphere is in our favour in Maharashtra. The people of Maharashtra have understood that there is a politics of manipulation. The people of Maharashtra will answer the loot and corruption done by the BJP and its allies. In Jharkhand also, the BJP is on the back foot. Jharkhand CM was forcibly put in jail. The people know that the (central) government misuses the government agencies to be in power," Congress leader Sachin Pilot said while speaking to ANI.
Commenting on the upcoming Rajasthan by-polls, Pilot said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Rajasthan has failed in every area and the public will evaluate the government's work in one year.
Pilot, who campaigned for Congress candidate from Dausa Assembly seat in Rajasthan by-polls, asserted that the party will win.
"This (BJP) government has failed in every area, be it law and order or working for the welfare of farmers...Only announcements have been made. The public will evaluate the government's work in one year and we are fighting well on all seven seats. I am confident that we will win," he said.
"No matter how much effort the BJP puts in, Dausa has always supported the Congress party," the Congress leader added.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Varun Sardesai also expressed optimism about the MVA's strength in Maharashtra. The leader attributed this robust support to the party's long-standing influence and the recent backing from Congress, which had previously won the seat.
"We are getting a lot of love from the people. Bandra East Assembly has been a stronghold in this area. Last time a congress leader won from this seat, and this time the congress too is with us," Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Varun Sardesai said while speaking to ANI.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set to take place on November 23.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena won 56 seats, and the Congress secured 44 seats. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, while the Shiv Sena won 63 and the Congress 42. (ANI)
