Folk culture and hill customes unique identity of our state: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], November 12 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that folk culture and hill customs are the unique identity and soul of the state.
CM Dhami participated in the Himgiri Oho Umangotsav program Igas in Dehradun and also played Bhelo on the occasion of the Igas Bagwal festival.
Wishing everyone a Happy Igas, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Himgiri society has been continuously serving the society.
The Chief Minister said that folk culture, folk traditions, and hill costumes are the unique identity and soul of our state. It is a symbol of our glorious history. Budhi Diwali and Igas are also a symbol of the faith of the state. It is the responsibility of all of us to convey the folk culture to our future generation. There are big and wonderful stories behind our traditions. The news of the victory of Lord Shri Ram reached late in the mountainous areas, so in many areas, Diwali is celebrated 11 days later.


The Chief Minister said all our auspicious works will start from today. He urged the people to go to their respective villages and celebrate folk festivals and also spread it to other people. He said that on the occasion of festivals, migrants of the state are heading towards their villages and urged them to return home and celebrate Lokparvo. This day is an opportunity for all of us to meet together. In future also, Pravasi Sammelan Day will be celebrated in this way.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has come first in the list of Sustainable Development Goals released by NITI Aayog. The state government has created a new history by passing the UCC Bill. In the last 3 years, a record 18,500 youths have got government jobs. The conversion law has been implemented. Along with this, anti-riot law has also been implemented in the state, under which every penny will be recovered from the rioter. The state government will also implement a strong land law.

Igas Bagwal festival is widely celebrated in Uttarakhand, after 11 days of Diwali. It is also called Budhi Diwali. (ANI)
