A portion of a road near the National Law University in Delhi's Dwarka, caved in on Sunday morning due to waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall, police said.
The collapse led to traffic disruptions in the area, the police said, adding that the affected stretch has been barricaded to prevent any untoward incident.
Technical teams of the civic agencies have been called in to assess the damage and carry out repairs, the Delhi Traffic Police said.
Preliminary findings suggest that waterlogging and structural weakness of the surface may have contributed to the collapse. Further investigation is underway, police said.
