Despite being the creative force behind massive blockbusters like   Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, filmmaker and YouTuber Farah Khan recently revealed that her earnings from content creation far surpassed what she made from her films. During an engaging conversation with tennis star Sania Mirza on the show Serving It Up With Sania, the choreographer-turned-director opened up about her unconventional career path and how she has embraced the digital space with enthusiasm and humor.   
   
When Sania playfully asked Farah to pick one profession among choreography, direction, and content creation, Farah jokingly admitted that the most lucrative option was creating digital content. The remark drew laughter from Sania, who teasingly reminded her that this came from someone who had once helmed a film grossing over ₹300 crore. Farah, who made her directorial debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Main Hoon Na, followed it up with two more successful collaborations — Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. The latter, released in 2014, became one of the biggest commercial hits of that year.
     
However, despite her blockbuster track record, Farah candidly explained that her personal income has been higher through content creation than through filmmaking. She added that while vlogging pays better, her true passion still lies in directing, describing it as her “real calling.” Farah’s YouTube vlogs, often featuring her cheerful and witty chef Dilip, have struck a chord with audiences. Their easy banter, everyday humor, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of celebrity life have made the videos a favorite among viewers, turning Dilip into a familiar face in his own right.
     
Even though Farah’s last film as a director was Happy New Year, she has managed to remain a constant presence in the entertainment world through her online ventures. Her ability to adapt to changing trends while keeping her trademark wit intact has not only strengthened her fan base but also proved that creativity can thrive — and even flourish — beyond the boundaries of traditional cinema.
