IAS officer Sanskriti Jain was given a royal farewell by her staff and colleagues as she concluded her tenure as Collector of Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh.

The ceremony, which took place over the weekend, saw Jain carried on a golden palanquin, accompanied by her two young daughters, in a memorable send-off organised to welcome the new district collector, Sheetala Patle, as reported by Aaj Tak.

The farewell ceremony was nothing short of spectacular, with visuals shared online capturing the 2015-batch IAS officer seated on a grand, golden-coloured palanquin carried by her colleagues.


The elaborate event was a heartfelt tribute to Jain's dedication and service in Seoni, leaving a lasting impression on the district's administrative community.

Sanskriti Jain’s New Role as Bhopal Municipal Commissioner and Metro Rail Head

Following her tenure in Seoni, Sanskriti Jain has been transferred to Bhopal, where she will serve as Commissioner of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). In addition, she has been appointed as the Additional Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, taking on an additional charge.

This new role is expected to further leverage her administrative expertise in managing urban infrastructure and municipal governance.

Early Life and Educational Background of IAS Sanskriti Jain

Born on 14 February 1989 in Srinagar, Sanskriti Jain comes from a disciplined family background with both parents serving in the Indian Air Force, as per reports.

Her father was a fighter pilot, while her mother worked in the medical department, resulting in Jain attending six different schools across India due to their frequent transfers.

She later graduated from BITS Pilani (Goa campus) and joined the LAMP Fellowship, setting the stage for her future in civil services.

Journey to IAS: From UPSC Aspirant to Accomplished Officer

Initially considering a PhD, Jain decided to attempt the UPSC exam on a friend’s recommendation. Demonstrating remarkable perseverance, she cleared the examination on her first attempt, became an IRS officer on her second, and finally joined the IAS on her third attempt with an impressive All India Rank of 11 in the 2014 Civil Services Examination. Notably, she achieved the highest marks in Philosophy, her optional subject, that year, according to Skyskool.

Diverse Administrative Experience Across Madhya Pradesh

As a 2015-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Sanskriti Jain has held multiple key administrative roles. Her assignments include serving as Commissioner of Rewa Municipal Corporation, Additional Collector of Satna, SDM of Mauganj, and CEO of the District Panchayat in Alirajpur and Narmadapuram.

These roles have provided her with extensive experience in district administration, urban governance, and policy implementation.
