The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has launched a crackdown on illegal hawkers obstructing roads and causing congestion on one of the busiest stretches in Kalyan East.
Municipal Commissioner Orders Action Against Encroachments
According to civic officials, the action was initiated under the directive of Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goyal. Following his orders, the Ward Officer, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, and other civic staff took action against unauthorized hawkers, stalls, handcarts, and makeshift sheds in Ward No. 5.
Drive Targets Khadegolavli, Malang Road, Vithalwadi Station Road
The drive covered key areas including Khadegolavli Road, 100 Foot Road, Malang Road, Vithalwadi Station Road, Mhatre Naka, and other congested locations in D Ward. The removal of hawkers brought considerable relief to pedestrians and motorists, as encroachments had been severely hampering movement.

Umesh Yamgar, the ward officer from D ward of KDMC, stated that action was taken against over 50 hand carts. During the drive, two trucks, including a tempo, and nine employees were involved.
