His verses brought a new sense of nationalism, cultural pride, and moral strength to the freedom struggle era. He, often referred to as "Rashtrakavi" (National Poet. The revered figure used his pen to fuel the spirit of patriotism and righteousness among Indians during British rule.

His most famous works include "Bharat-Bharati", a patriotic collection of poems that deeply moved readers and inspired generations. He gave voice to values like sacrifice, courage, and devotion through characters drawn from mythology, history, and common life, like Sita, Lakshman, and Buddha.
