Mumbai: A 50-year-old woman, who was flying from Kochi to Mumbai on an Akasa Airlines flight, has alleged that her gold necklace worth Rs1.2 lakh and Rs5,000 cash were stolen onboard. Rosamma Joseph, a nurse from Santacruz, said that the incident occurred on March 28, adding that she filed the police complaint on April 16, after the airlines failed to address her grievance.
According to the FIR, Joseph was returning from her native in Kerala and the flight landed in Mumbai at 2.30pm. Upon checking the overheard cabin, she could not find the purse containing the valuables, including the two tola necklace. Joseph reported the incident at the airline's office at terminal 1 and the staff asked her to return the next day.
She said that the airlines had found her purse, however, the necklace and cash were missing. The staff informed her that further details would be provided after an internal inquiry. Despite repeated emails and calls, the airline didn't respond, said Joseph, adding she eventually approached the police.
