Mumbai: A drowning incident was reported at Juhu Beach in Andheri (West) on Thursday. The incident was reported by the BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).

According to officials, a 20-year-old man, identified as Saheb Singh, was rescued from the sea by on-duty lifeguards. The timely intervention ensured he was brought to safety without any injuries.

In another example of courage and commitment, a Mumbai Police constable saved the life of a 53-year-old mentally ill woman who jumped into the sea at Bandra’s Bandstand on July 3. The incident has received widespread praise online, with citizens lauding the constable’s timely and selfless act.

According to a recent post by Mumbai Police on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, the woman, who reportedly suffers from a mental health condition, leaped into the water out of fear that someone was chasing her. Constable Sainath Devde, who was present at the scene, immediately rushed to her rescue. Despite the woman losing consciousness, he managed to pull her safely back to the shore.
