Kanpur: Three farmers, including a woman, died in separate lightning strike incidents across Kanpur district on Thursday evening. Police and revenue teams, alerted by fellow farmers, investigated the scenes and sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
In Sajeti police station area,Sarjan Gupta was working in his fields in Kurseda village when lightning struck, killing him instantly. He is survived by his wife, Geeta Gupta, three sons, and a daughter.
The second incident occurred in Champatpur village, Bidhanu police station area,where middle aged farmer Arvind Pal alias Pappu was tending cattle. He took shelter under a tree during rainfall when lightning struck, causing his immediate death.

She succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.
