Clean tech startup HYLENR has raised $3 Mn (around INR 26.3 Cr) in its pre-Series A funding round co-led by Valour Capital and Chhattisgarh Investments Limited.
The round also saw participation from a host of angel investors, including Sundar Iyer and Anant Sarda.
The Hyderabad-based startup will deploy the freshly raised funds to expedite its market launch. It is currently operating on a pilot basis.
Besides India, the startup is looking to help international markets, including the US, Europe and Japan, with sustainable energy solutions.
“We have moved beyond proof-of-concept into a phase where LENR can begin to address real-world energy challenges. This funding allows us to accelerate product development and market reach, addressing industry needs for clean, high-yield thermal and electrical energy solutions in the US, Europe, India and Japan markets,” said HYLENR founder Ram Ramaseshan.
Founded in 2024, HYLENR is leveraging its patented low energy nuclear reactor (LENR) technology to develop a carbon-free heat energy system to fulfil the industrial and enterprise needs for heat and power.
HYLENR develops thermal energy reactors which generate heat and power at near-room temperatures without harmful radiation or radioactive waste.
As per the company, its pilot projects are already underway with several government institutions and companies transitioning to these sustainable alternatives of energy generation. The startup is also planning to raise a funding of $25 Mn soon.
The development comes at the heart of several Indian cleantech startups emerging with a focus on integrating sustainable practices. These startups are addressing various aspects of sustainability, from waste management and renewable energy to eco-friendly products and clean transportation
As per a report, India’s cleantech market generated revenue of about $63.4 Bnin 2024 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 16.1%, reaching $152.5 Bn by 2030. In 2024, renewable market technologies accounted for the largest revenue segment in the Indian cleantech market.
