Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles, crossed the 200 crore mark in 5 days, although the collection is seeing a decline. Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan has created a new record by becoming the second 200 crore Tamil film in 2024 after The Greatest of All Time.
Opening and performance of Rajinikanth's film
Vettaiyan Box Office Collection: Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles, is slowly slowing down at the box office. The film initially received mixed reviews, the effect of which is now visible in its collection. Its collection fell drastically on Monday, and the film's earnings graph has fallen down rapidly. Let's know the update of the worldwide box office collection of this film after 5 days.
Release of the film and the first day blast
Vettaiyan was released in theaters on 10 October 2024. There was tremendous hype about this Rajinikanth film on the occasion of Dussehra. The special thing was that this was the Tamil debut of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. But, unfortunately the film did not live up to the expectations of the audience due to the weak story.

Fifth day box office collection
On Monday, Vettaiyan collected a net of 5.35 crores in India, which is a huge drop of 70% as compared to the fourth day. On the fourth day, the film earned 23 crores. The total domestic collection so far has been 111.35 crores, in which the gross collection after adding taxes becomes around 131.39 crores.
Slow pace in international market too
Vettaiyan's growth has slowed down in the international market as well. It added a gross collection of ₹4 crore on the fifth day, taking its total overseas collection to ₹69 crore. Combining Indian and international collections, the worldwide box office collection stands at ₹200.39 crore.
Second ₹200 crore Tamil film of 2024
Vettaiyan has now become the second Tamil film of 2024 to cross the ₹200 crore club after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time. This is a big achievement for the film, but given the falling collections, it will not be able to cross the ₹300 crore mark.
Future of the film
Only time will tell what will be the final box office collection of this Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan starrer. Currently, the film is receiving mixed response and this will affect its future earnings.
