Mystery drama Apples Never Fall will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this weekend. Based on the novel by Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers author Liane Moriarty, the series focuses on rich and retiring couple Stan (Sam Neill) and Joy Delaney (Annette Bening) who are disrupted by the sudden arrival of a wounded young woman.
Soon after, Joy goes missing and her children are forced to re-examine their parents' so-called perfect marriage as their darkest secrets begin to surface.

A plot synopsis from the BBC reads: "Apples Never Fall centres on the seemingly picture-perfect Delaney family. Former tennis coaches Stan and Joy have sold their successful tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives."
"While they look forward to spending time with their four adult children, everything changes when a wounded young woman knocks on Joy and Stan's door, bringing the excitement they've been missing."
"But when Joy suddenly disappears, her children are forced to re-examine their parents' so-called perfect marriage as their family's darkest secrets begin to surface."
When is Apples Never Fall released in the UK?The seven-part drama kicks off on BBC One after Strictly Come Dancing at 9.25pm on Saturday, September 21. Each episode is around 45 minutes long will air weekly on Saturdays at 9.15pm.
