Brazil legend Lucio taken to 'intensive care' after suffering burns in accident

and legend Lucio is in intensive care being treated for burns to various parts of his body. Lucio, 47, is being treated at a hospital in Brasilia after suffering the injuries on Thursday.

According to , the accident took place at home. In a statement, the hospital said that the former defender was 'stable, conscious and under constant observation.'

The extent and cause of Lucio's injuries haven't been disclosed. The ex-centre-back retired from football in 2019, having spent the last few years of his career in Brazil.

Lucio is most famous for marshalling Inter's defence and winning an historic treble under in 2010. He was also a key part of the -inspired Brazil side that won the 2002 and captained his country, who he represented 105 times, from 2006 to 2011.
