Ella-Rae Wise has opened up about the emotional toll of her recent break-up with TOWIE star Dan Edgar, admitting she’s been left “hurt” by fans’ speculation over the timing of their split. The duo called time on their romance just before she entered the Celebrity house.

Speaking exclusively about the breakdown, she said: “I think people forget that I went in after a really fresh break-up. What’s hurtful is hearing people say I split with Dan just to go in there – with some big game plan. That was never the case. Things hadn’t been right for a couple of weeks behind closed doors. It was a mutual decision. We haven’t fallen out, we’re still amicable.”

In the latest episode of the reality TV show, Dan is seen talking to co-stars Diags and Roman Hackett about Ella. Dan claimed he never formally asked Ella to be his girlfriend, with the duo only becoming an item due to their constant time together.
A confused Roman asked Dan on the show: "Are you going to ask [Ella] to be your girlfriend?"
Dan replied: "It wasn't that I was never gonna ask her, it just got to a stage where I felt we were both happy and just going with the flow of it."
However, Diags butted in to say Ella definitely would have liked to have been formally asked and told him to: "Pull your finger out of your a*** and ask her."
But Dan hit back and claimed he had told her they were together. "I just said to her 'we are in a relationship," he told his pals before Diags sarcastically told him the gesture was "so romantic".
Before got under way, Ella revealed . She said at the time the duo had struggled on agreeing on their futures.
"I'm 24, I don’t want to live out there," Ella explained to . "I just feel our stars aren't aligned. I just feel that he's really conscious about wasting time with someone."
Ella also confided in her housemates about the split, as she told her co-stars: "It's just one of them things. I just feel like an idiot because everyone... I just knew he weren't gonna be what I wanted him to be. And I thought maybe he might for me but he's just...And I don't want to waste years trying to change someone. Do you know what I mean?"

Following the scenes, Dan took to social media to say: "The past week has seen a strange turn of events and things have been said that I didn’t really want to comment on, but to put it straight, Ella and I agreed to go our separate ways amicably last week, and were speaking right up until she left to go into the house.
"I think we both have our reasons for why it wasn’t working out, but there are certain things in life I would rather keep private. I wish her all the best and hope she enjoys her experience."
