China claims US could be true origin of Covid in astonishing new report

China has thrown a shocking accusation at America, claiming the US might actually be where the Covid-19 pandemic started, which has taken millions of lives globally.

A white paper released by the Chinese State Council Information Office on Wednesday suggested that the virus, responsible for over 1.2 million deaths in the US and more than 7 million worldwide, might have originated in the United States.

This bold allegation seems to be China's counter against fresh criticism from the Trump campaign, which insists the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) could be where Covid-19 first escaped.

The document is strident in its condemnation, accusing the US of turning the pandemic's origins into a political sideshow to cover up their initial handling blunders.

In the text, Chinese officials charge: "The US government, instead of facing squarely its failure in response to Covid-19 and reflecting on its shortcomings, has tried to shift the blame and divert people's attention by shamelessly politicizing SARS-CoV-2 origins tracing.", reports .

They also demand: "A thorough and in-depth investigation into the origins of the virus should be conducted in the United States. The United States should respond to the reasonable concern of the international community, and give a responsible answer to the ."

The Chinese report has made a bold claim, stating: "Substantial evidence suggested the COVID-19 might have emerged in the United States earlier than its officially-claimed timeline, and earlier than the outbreak in ."

This latest accusation from Beijing is set against a backdrop where US intelligence agencies, such as the CIA and FBI, are still considering the possibility of a lab leak in Wuhan. Initially dismissed as conspiracy, American intelligence now admits that this theory cannot be completely ruled out.

Conversely, a significant number of scientists continue to support the theory that the virus naturally transferred from animals to humans, which aligns with extensive virological research.

China's white paper doesn't hold back, alleging that the US "should not continue to pretend to be deaf and dumb" and demands that it addresses questions posed by the global community.

One of the more provocative allegations in the document is that the US intentionally minimized the severity of its own outbreak at the start of 2020. The report claims: "The US was aware that an epidemic of a novel coronavirus was spreading quickly within its borders," and criticises the Trump administration for likening Covid-19 to the flu and suggesting "it would disappear automatically one day."

The document also accuses: "The US has made China the primary scapegoat for its own mismanaged Covid-19 response. The US government's indifference and delayed actions wasted the precious time China had secured for the global fight against the pandemic."

The white paper cites CDC research suggesting SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were found in 106 out of 7,389 blood samples from nine US states between December 2019 and January 2020, hinting that the virus might have been in America before China reported its official cases.

It also mentions an NIH study indicating coronavirus antibodies in blood samples from all 50 US states by March 2020. Yet experts caution that these tests can react to other coronaviruses, like those causing common colds, casting doubt over solid evidence for early spread.

Strikingly, the document omits discussion about genetic sequencing of the virus, which originated in Wuhan, tying it to the Huanan Seafood Market and Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital.

Beijing's paper throws light on multiple US lab safety mishaps, claiming roughly 1,500 severe incidents with coronaviruses and other perilous pathogens occurred. In reality, most incidents were trivial, such as broken glassware, and resulted in only 15 infections.

Concluding forcefully, the report demands: "The US should cease from shifting blame and evading responsibility, stop finding external excuses for its internal malaise, and genuinely reflect on and overhaul its public health policies.

"The US cannot continue to turn a deaf ear to the numerous questions over its conduct."
