A few years later, she moved to England to further her acting career in London, landing a leading role in the hit film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Jonathan and Elodie, who relocated from LA to another state due to her work commitments, recently opened up about their love life.
As reported by Metro, Jonathan said: “My wife has been working on a TV show for the last few years in another state in America and we've been based there for the last couple of years. We enjoy our life there. My wife is French Cambodian and we never thought we'd be living in the States, but we like it out there. That's our life right now.”
has recently moved back to the UK, leaving his wife Elodie and their daughter in the States. He shared: “I left the north of England 20 years ago, when I was 20. I went to do Dream Team in London then I went to drama school for three years.”
“I left drama school and managed to work in America and moved to America and I've been in the States for the last 10 years with my wife and I have a daughter over there. The only hard thing is being away from them, but at the same time it's a real gift to be back in the north of England.”
In the past decade, Jonathan has worked alongside big names like Brad Pitt, and Anthony Hopkins, but he considers landing a role in Corrie as his greatest achievement.
He told The : “Being in is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It's all the same, everyone's telling stories, whether it's a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid.”
“I'm staying with my mum and I sleep in my childhood bedroom.
Over the years, Jonathan has played Charles Dance's son in the 2019 film Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and worked with Brad, who produced and starred in the 2013 action horror film World War Z.
Jonathan, who starred in the Marvel superhero film Thor: The Dark World as astrophysicist Ian Boothby alongside big names like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba, shared his experiences. He said: “Thor was crazy. I was less than a year out of drama school. The best part was two days with Anthony Hopkins, which was fantastic. We swapped emails and we emailed each other now and then.”
“I'd had the biggest crush on Natalie Portman and then suddenly I was sitting chatting to her and I'd go out for dinner with Stellan Skarsgard.”
The actor, who hails from near Southport, made his TV debut at 14 in the children's series Looking After the Penneys and by 18, he was playing footballer Gavin Moody in Dream Team.
He has also appeared in Downton Abbey, Episodes and Mr Selfridge, but primarily works in America, having moved there a decade ago with his wife, French actress Elodie Yung.
