There are many ways you can react to losing your job.
But few are as beneficial - or eye-catching - as what has been up to. In the wake of , and between two gruelling triple-headers to finish the current campaign, the Finn apparently has no interest in putting his feet up.
Instead, the racer has been putting his body through its paces. In a video posted on his social media accounts, Bottas showed how he spent his week off at home, completing the equivalent to an Ironman triathlon.
An Ironman is one of the most gruelling one-day tests of fitness anybody can attempt to complete. It begins with a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile cycling stint before running a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles.

It is not something many people would want to attempts straight after three consecutive weekends of F1 racing - and before another triple header to round off the season. But Bottas did so last week without even having to leave the comfort of his own home.
The 35-year-old began by diving into his own pool to complete the swimming section of the challenge, simply by doing lengths. He then headed back inside to use his Peloton to cycle before switching machines and jumping on a curved Assault Runner treadmill to complete the marathon section.
All in, the effort took around 11 hours to complete and Bottas burned around 7,000 calories. "What a madman," wrote one fan on social media who, like many others, was taken aback by the physical endurance and the mental strength of the 10-time F1 race winner.
Another wrote: "The willpower to do that in a pool and stationary bike and treadmill is ridiculous." And a third joked: "I like how he first mentioned 'body starts hurting' after he completed the swim and bike, as if my body did not start hurting watching him do this video."
Bottas has lost his place on the F1 grid for 2025 but it seems likely he will remain a presence in the paddock. Mirror Sport understands the Finn is likely to return to as a reserve, with one insider confirming the Silver Arrows would be delighted to welcome him back.
As for Sauber, parent company have decided to field an all-new driver line-up in 2025. signed up for the project back in April but there was a long wait until last week when it was finally confirmed that he will be joined by a rookie, title contender Gabriel Bortoleto.
