has slammed as she reflected on her upbringing, describing the star's approach to parenting as “controlling” and “bossy.” The Kardashians star, 46, made the remarks during an appearance on her sister ’s podcast, Khloe In Wonder Land.
As the eldest daughter of Kris Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian, Kourtney opened up about her dynamic with Caitlyn, who married Kris, 69, in 1991 and remained in the family until their 2015 divorce.
The conversation turned to parenting styles when Khloe praised Kourtney for taking a more relaxed role in co-parenting with her husband Travis Barker. “[Caitlyn] never tried to be dad,” Khloe said, referencing their late father Robert. “And I always appreciated and respected that.”
However, Kourtney offered a different take. “Okay, so, that wasn’t my experience,” she responded. “But maybe that’s why it became your experience. So [I’m] grateful for that for you.”

She went on to recall tense moments from her youth. “I would be like, ‘I wanna call my Dad,’ and [Caitlyn] would hang up the phone. We would have yelling wars.” Kourtney said Jenner even imposed strict rules on her social life: “Certain friends can’t come over.”
Kourtney explained that these confrontations eventually led her to move in with her father Robert before his death from esophageal cancer in 2003. Khloe admitted she once assumed the friction came from Kourtney feeling that Caitlyn was “replacing dad,” though she added: “Not that he did, no one could replace dad.”
During their marriage, Caitlyn and Kris welcomed daughters Kendall and Kylie, and Caitlyn also became step-parent to Kourtney, Khloe, Kim, and Rob. From previous relationships, Caitlyn has four more children - Brody, Burt, Brandon, and Cassandra.
Years after her 2015 transition, Caitlyn opened up in an interview with Diane Sawyer on 20/20 about the state of her relationships with her children. “Some [of my children] I have remained very close to. A couple of them… I’m a little more distant,” she said.
“I have to admit, I’ll sit here and wonder, ‘Is it because of my transitioning? Or is it because their life is so busy that they don’t call, like, all the time? Nobody calls that much. I mostly reach out to them. Obviously, the Jenner side calls more, but they all have their own lives.”
This year, Brody Jenner offered his own perspective during an episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, reflecting on Caitlyn’s absence during his childhood.
“I had an incredible mother. Father, Bruce, at the time, wasn’t around that much,” he shared, according to E! News.
However, Brody revealed that their relationship has seen some healing: “Just recently, I got a real, sincere apology. It was the first time in my life that I’ve ever gotten an apology. You know, I’m sorry for not being there, and honestly, it meant a lot.”
