TV star Nick Knowles has opened up about a "nuts" mishap on DIY SOS.
The host is making his comeback to screens this week with his BBC programme, which sees him and his crew transforming households of families throughout Britain. Speaking about the show during an appearance on The One Show on Monday (September 29), he revealed that matters recently went drastically awry with a shower.
Host Roman Kemp - who was presenting alongside Alex Jones - mentioned he'd been told there was a "language barrier" problem on location, reports Wales Online.

Nick joked: "Yeah, so there's the language barrier between the builders very often anyway! And quite often we've got each other by the lapels in what, in political circles, they call a free and frank exchange of ideas. So that can get quite heated."
He continued: "But on this particular occasion, we were really hurtling towards the end of the build, about 200 people in this three-bedroom semi. And suddenly the plumber walks in and he goes, 'We've got a bit of a problem with the shower that we've put in - it's voice activated.'
"I said, 'Well, what's the problem?'
"He said, 'It's currently speaking French and we can't switch it off.' I said, 'What do you mean you can't switch it off?'"

The star explained someone began yelling "Arret", which means "Stop" in French, though it proved unsuccessful.
Nick, chuckling, shared with the hosts: "Then suddenly a decorator sticks his head out and he goes, 'Ask Ollie, he was in France for two weeks this summer,' as if that's good!"
"So we're like, we're all shouting things," he continued.
"And the shower, because we haven't got the drain in at the moment, so the shower is filling up with water and is going to flood the rest of the house. And none of us can work out what to shout at this shower."
Fortunately, someone managed to sort it out before the house flooded, and the shower was reset back to English.
"It's nuts the stuff that goes on," Nick said of the near miss.
The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One on weekdays. DIY SOS returns at 8pm on BBC One on Friday October 3.
