He continued: "I don't think Liverpool will get near us. I don't think anybody does. As long as Guardiola stays we will win the league every year."
But that bold forecast crumbled quickly. Liverpool surged to the title in 2020, finishing 18 points clear of City. Five years later, they've done it again - this time leaving an even larger gap between them and Guardiola's men.
Under guidance, the Reds didn't just win - they made a statement, defeating City 2-0 both home and away. The victory makes Liverpool only the fifth side to secure multiple Premier League trophies, joining the ranks of and City.
