Saiyaara has been making a splash at the box office since its premiere on 18 July, setting a new record for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a love story in Hindi cinema, as reported by the Times of India.
The film's triumph is largely attributed to its resonance with younger viewers, catapulting stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into the limelight. Both critics and audiences have lauded their compelling performances and natural rapport, with the film now available for viewing in the UK.
The title, which translates to "a star or planet that moves across the sky", was selected to encapsulate themes of "longing, eternal love and emotional distance".The trailer explains how "Saiyaara means a lonely star among the stars. Who by herself illuminates the whole world."
