Victoria Beckham Netflix show bombshells - Brooklyn, babies and huge David fight

Send Push

The newVictoria BeckhamNetflix series has some surprising and shocking revelations from the fashion boss formerly known as Posh Spice and her husband David.

But there are also things NOT in the documentary which you might be expecting or looking out for.

Here are some of the biggest bombshells we spotted as we got the first look at the series.

  • Real reason why ITV removed George Gilbert from Big Brother following offensive remarks
BROOKLYN IS IN IT - BUT NOT FOR LONG

Given the ongoing feud in the Beckham family, Brooklyn Beckham was not expected to feature in this doc or be mentioned. But he does make a fleeting appearance. He is on screen for around five seconds as he is shown arriving for his mum’s fashion show in Paris last year. By contrast his sister Harper appears in a number of scenes, dancing with her mum for a social media video, trying on a dress and later in the closing credits giving out an award to her mum.

VICTORIA BLAMES DAVID FOR NOT SMILING

In a surprising turn of events, Victoria says her husband is at least partly to blame for her looking so unhappy or at least not smiling in some red carpet shots.

As they prepared to go out for the night in episode one, Victoria said: “Here’s a fact, I’ve looked miserable for all these years, because when we stand on the red carpet, this guy(Becks) has always gone on the left. Okay.

“Now I didn't realise that when I smile, which I do! I smile from the left, because if I smile from the right I look unwell.

“So consequently I'm smiling. I'm smiling on the inside, but no one ever sees it, so that's why I look so moody.”

DAVID SAYS VICTORIA WAS PERFECT WHEN THEY FIRST MET

Looking back on their initial romance, David recalls: “When I met Victoria, I couldn't find one thing about her I didn't like, not one thing. I mean, I could find a few now! Back then she was this mythical person.

“At that time the Spice Girls were so big, and I was just a footballer in Manchester, and no one knew that we were dating. But in all honesty, I was so excited. I wanted everyone to know that I was dating Posh Spice.

On love, he adds: “I fell hard and fell quick. And within two years of being together, we were married and with one kid.”

For her part Victoria said: “I wasn't really looking for anything, you know, I was having fun with my friends. But when I met David, I'd never felt that connection with anybody before. vWe've been married for 25 years, and we have grown and changed together."

NEAR ELTON JOHN LEVELS OF SPENDING

Victoria’s fashion brand made big losses for a number of years despite winning critical acclaim. Thing turned around when her business partner David Belhassen joined the company and took a look at the books. Famously a court once heard how Elton John spent £293,000 on flowers in 20 months, and Victoria wasn’t too far behind!

David Belhassen said: “For years, she had people telling her what she wanted to hear. I remember one of the expenses was the office plants, because she loves plants, and it was costing like £70,000 a year. And then there was someone who was coming to water the plants for £15,000 a year, and that's only the beginning. So I went to her, and I decided to just tell the truth exactly the way it is, and I didn't know how she would react. And I said, Victoria, we have to change everything, restructure the business, and that's going to be painful.”

MONEY WORRIES

When her fashion business was going really badly it led to trouble at home as well as at work. Victoria would cry every day and David was getting concerned as he ploughed millions into the business.

Victoria said:“It's been a hell of a journey. I almost lost everything. And that was a dark, dark time.

“I used to cry before I went to work every day, because I just felt like a firefighter.

“We were tens of millions in the red. Yes, I'm going home to my husband, but I'm going home to my business partner as well, and so I would talk to him about it. I had to, he was invested, and I hated it. I absolutely hated it."

David added: “We both sat there, and, you know, we looked at what I'd invested, and I think part of that conversation broke my heart, because Victoria is a proud woman.

“When we met, she was a lot richer than me. She actually bought our first house in Hertfordshire, known as Beckenham palace.

“So for her to have to come to me and say, ‘we need some more money, the business needs more money’. That was hard for both of us, because I didn't have the money to keep doing this. And eventually I was like, this cannot continue.”

BAD START WITH VERSACE

Victoria Beckham is friends now with designer Donatella Versace but things didn’t get off to the perfect start when they first linked up in 1997. Donatella got in contact as her daughter was a bit Spice Girls fan.

Victoria recalls: “I got invited to go to the Versace show by Donnatella. They got a private plane for me to Milan. I go into the Versace store and they tell me that I can get whatever I want. I couldn't believe it.

“I selected a black leather dress, and I remember trying on the dress, looking in the mirror, and saying to someone that worked in the store ‘I really like the dress, but how about, let's tighten it here, shorten it here, let's take off the sleeves. How about we basically redesign the whole dress’. I really can't believe I did that. So rude.”

Smiling about it now, Donatella says in the Netflix doc: “You shouldn't do it.

“The fact that she dare! Then I realised it was better on her the way she did it, she knows her body.”

image LOSING IT IN MANCHESTER

A year later the Spice Girls split and Victoria was in Manchester. She launched a solo career but it now seems like she was almost on autopilot when doing this to keep herself busy.

She said: “I went from being up here with a Spice Girl, being on tour, traveling the world. Everything was so fast, we were like a tornado. And then all of a sudden it stopped.

It was so extreme. One minute I'm spreading word of girl power, and then the next minute, I'm a wife in a flat in Manchester, not really having any friends, living a long way away from my family. And I found that transition really, really difficult. It felt really lonely.

EURO 2006 AND BADEN BADEN

Victoria was part of a WAGs set who were out at the Euros with their husbands staying in a nearby hotel. It was a Summer of partying and in the doc she dubs the England stars the HABs - Husbands and Boyfriends of the WAGs.

Victoria said: “I remember seeing one of these wives that had bought so many designer clothes and had so many bags she couldn't get in the revolving doors of Baden, Barden hotel. You I look at those pictures and I smile, but when I look back and think, why? I suppose there was an element of attention seeking, if I'm being completely honest, it was at a time when I didn't feel creatively fulfilled.”

BABY FOR BECKS?

The series ends with David and Victoria in the Cotswolds looking to the future. David, seemingly tongue in cheek, said: “ I'm almost 50 you're 51. What’s next? Another baby?

Victoria replies: “My god, no, we've still got so much that we want to do. I'm not stopping yet.”
