Attacks on Hindus are not stopping in Bangladesh, violence continues even after warning.

Violence against the Hindu community is not stopping even during the ongoing Durga Puja celebrations in neighboring country Bangladesh. According to police reports, so far 35 such incidents have taken place in which 17 people have been arrested and about a dozen cases have been registered.

Durga Puja is being organized in more than 32,000 pandals across the country. Last month, before the Durga Puja celebrations, Islamic groups had threatened the Hindu community not to celebrate Durga Puja, after which the interim government's religious affairs advisor AFM Khalid Hussain had warned that strict action would be taken against anyone who resorts to violence.

Giving information on the attacks during Durga Puja in the country, Director General of Police Moinul Islam said, since October 1, there have been 35 incidents related to Durga Puja celebrations, in which 11 cases have been registered, 24 general diaries have been filed and 17 persons have been arrested.

On Friday itself, a gold crown was stolen from the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira, India. This crown was gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 2021 visit.

In this case, Krishna Mukherjee, leader of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, has demanded the government arrest the accused as soon as possible. Bangladesh Police has identified a person in the case of theft of the crown and has assured to arrest him soon. After this incident came into discussion, the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh expressed its objection.

A song was sung for the Islamic revolution in the Puja pandal.

More than half a dozen people entered a Durga Puja pavilion in Chattogram, Bangladesh on Thursday and sang a song for the Islamic revolution. A video clip of this incident went viral on social media, which worsened the atmosphere. Chattogram police arrested two accused in this case.

A case has been registered against seven people including Puja Committee General Secretary Sajal Dutta in this incident. Speaking on this incident, Chattogram Puja Parishad General Secretary Hilol Sen Ujjal said that this incident has created an atmosphere of fear among the local Hindu community. He expressed hope that the government will take strict action in this matter.

Army chiefs visit the temple.

In view of the increasing attacks on puja pandals in the country, the chiefs of the three services - Army Chief General Walker Uzzama, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Air Force Chief Air Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan - visited the Ramna Kali Temple in Dhaka on Friday.

Apart from the service chiefs, youth and sports adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan also visited Durga Puja pandals at Gallamari Harichand Tagore Temple and Bagmara Govinda Temple in Khulna on Friday. Chief adviser to the government Mohammad Yunus is scheduled to visit the Dhakeshwari temple in the capital on Sunday.
