SRK hates love stories… Why does Shahrukh Khan add action to romantic films?

Shahrukh Khan is known all over the world today as the 'King of Romance'. But he never wanted to be known like this. Shahrukh does not like romantic films or love stories at all. Now Nikhil Advani, who directed 'Kal Ho Na Ho' for Shahrukh Khan, has also spoken on this. He says that Shahrukh hates love stories. He always wanted to do action. That is why he choreographed the basketball scene in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' himself. Shahrukh also forcibly got the action scene at the station in DDLJ inserted in the film.

Nikhil not only directed 'Kal Ho Na Ho', but he was also associated with three of Shahrukh's films as an assistant. These films were - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. During these films, there used to be a discussion about Shahrukh and his actions. He says - Shahrukh used to tell me that Adi and Karan keep making only love stories, we will make a hardcore action film. Shahrukh Khan hates love stories.

Nikhil said that Shahrukh's favorite film is 'Dil Se'. He keeps talking about a sequence of 'Hey Ram' and 'Darr'. He also likes 'Ram Jaane' a lot.
