Tej Pratap Yadav, former minister and elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has revealed that his party, the Janshakti Janata Dal, will release its candidate list for the Bihar Assembly elections on October 8. Yadav emphasized in a media interaction that his party is fully prepared to contest all seats across the state with determination and strength. He highlighted that the aim of contesting is not just to gain political power, but to chart a new course for Bihar’s development, promising progressive changes.
Having been expelled from RJD after a family disagreement, Tej Pratap Yadav remained actively involved in Bihar’s political scene, forming the Janshakti Janata Dal by consolidating several smaller parties. In the previous state election, he contested as an RJD candidate, but this time he is keen to stake his claim from the Mahua constituency, having made frequent visits to the area to interact with voters.
Yadav has also made frequent public statements targeting the RJD and questioning its internal leadership, often referring to a “Jaichand” within the party, though he has not disclosed the identity. With the upcoming candidate list, political observers are watching closely to see whether Tej Pratap will introduce fresh faces or pose a significant challenge to the RJD’s dominance in key constituencies.
