JABALPUR: At least ten people were injured in an explosion at an ordnance factory in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The blast happened on Tuesday morning at the Central Security Institute Ordnance Factory located in Khamaria, where bombs and explosives are produced.
Officials reported that three factory employees were taken to a private hospital for urgent care, and their condition is said to be critical. The explosion was triggered by a malfunction in a hydraulic system during the bomb-filling process in building 200 of the factory's F-6 section. The blast was so intense that it was heard from up to five kilometers away, leading nearby residents to believe there had been an earthquake, prompting many to flee their homes in panic.
The factory's general manager, along with other senior officials, has arrived at the scene, but no official statements have been made so far.
