Maruti Suzuki India Limited has celebrated a remarkable achievement as its Manesar plant has crossed the significant milestone of 1 crore units in cumulative production.

The first vehicle produced at this facility was the popular compact SUV, the Brezza, highlighting the company's expanding influence in the SUV market.

This milestone was reached in just 18 years, making the Manesar plant the fastest among Suzuki's global manufacturing sites to accomplish this feat.

Operational since October 2006, the facility spans 600 acres and produces a variety of models, including the Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dzire, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio.

These vehicles cater to both domestic consumers and international markets, with exports to regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and neighboring Asian countries.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "With a strong focus on local manufacturing of components, since inception, the Company has been able to establish a vast supply chain in India."

He further stated, "Through our large-scale manufacturing facilities, we have been able to provide direct and indirect employment to millions of people. Along with our supply chain partners, we will continue to contribute to making the automobile industry in India self-reliant and globally competitive."

The Manesar plant has played a crucial role in Maruti Suzuki's global growth. It was responsible for manufacturing the Baleno, which was the first passenger car exported by the company to Japan.

This accomplishment demonstrates the facility's ability to meet international quality standards while enhancing Maruti Suzuki's overall production capability, currently standing at around 2.35 million units per year.

Since its launch, Maruti Suzuki has produced over 3.11 crore vehicles, solidifying its position as a leader in the Indian automotive sector.
