Kangana Ranaut’s much-awaited film Emergency is finally set to move forward after clearing a significant obstacle. Zee Entertainment, the co-producer, has agreed to make the changes suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), allowing the film to proceed with its release. An official announcement regarding the release date is expected soon.

On Friday, Zee Entertainment informed the Bombay High Court that it had accepted the CBFC's recommendations and made the necessary edits. The film will now be resubmitted to the board for final approval and certification. The CBFC is expected to issue the certification within two weeks after reviewing the modifications.

Earlier in court, senior counsel Sharan Jagtiani, representing Zee Entertainment, confirmed that the film is ready to move forward. Meanwhile, Abhinav Chandrachud, senior counsel for the CBFC, assured that the certification process would be promptly completed once the revised version of the film is submitted. A division bench of Justices B.P. Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla accepted these submissions and closed Zee Entertainment's petition.

Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to share the good news, stating that Emergency had received its certification and that the release date would be announced soon. She thanked her fans for their patience and promised that the wait for the film would soon be over.

Emergency is a biographical drama in which Ranaut portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Initially set for a September 6 release, the film faced delays due to objections from certain Sikh groups and revisions requested by the CBFC. Ranaut, who also directed and co-produced the film, had previously accused the board of delaying certification for political reasons.
