MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 Showcases Stellar Short Films 'The Promise' & 'Aloo Bhujia'

Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films collaborated with the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 to showcase unique short films and captivating storytelling for discerning audiences. This partnership celebrated creativity and originality in the short film genre, featuring renowned artists and top-tier storytellers.

The festival premiered two original short films: Aloo Bhujia (produced by Gul Panag, directed by Lakshmi R Iyer, and starring Rannvijay Singha, Arnav Maggo, and Padma Damodaran) and The Promise (directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, starring Jim Sarbh and Priyamani). Both films received enthusiastic applause, followed by a lively panel discussion and Q&A session led by Suchin Mehrotra, where filmmakers and actors explored the craft of short-form cinema and their collaboration with Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films.

Actor and producer Gul Panag praised the platform's support for short films, stating that working with Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films allowed her to express her creative vision fully. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia noted that the platform's emphasis on human stories made it an ideal partner. Actor Jim Sarbh, part of an upcoming short film trilogy, expressed his excitement for continuing his relationship with a platform that values narratives with depth.

The festival also featured a short film contest, giving new filmmakers a chance to showcase their storytelling skills. The top 10 films were screened on the festival’s opening day, and winners in the "Best Film" category were awarded on October 23, judged by esteemed industry figures Hansal Mehta, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Rajshri Deshpande.
