Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question the engineers who have been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance for having disproportionate assets (DA) to their known sources of income.
According to sources, the ED has prepared a list of corrupt engineers for questioning under the Money Laundering Act. The Vigilance has already provided the information about the engineers whose houses and properties were raided in the last four months to the ED. The ED is likely to issue summon to those engineers soon.
Vigilance Director Yeshwant Jethwa said all important cases have been shared with Income Tax and ED. The agencies have also interacted with each other regarding further action, he added.
In the last four months, the Vigilance has arrested six chief engineers besides a joint commissioner of Excise Department, an assistant commissioner of CT&GST, a chief accounts officer of OSRTC, a deputy director of Fisheries department, a chief civil supplies officer, two tehsildars, two BDOs, one forest range officer, a jail superintendent, a doctor and seven police officers on DA, bribery and government fund embezzlement charges, the sources said.
