At least 9 people including 3 children injured after minivan ploughs into crowd

A minivan crashed into a crowd in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, injuring several people, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident occurred just before 3.15 pm in Santee Alley, located in the city's Fashion District. The victims included several children, but authorities have yet to release any updates on their conditions.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. However, footage from the Citizen App shows the minivan colliding with a structure along the sidewalk on East 12th Street near Santee Alley, a popular outdoor shopping venue.

LAFD crews arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and cordoned off the area with yellow crime scene tape. Officials reported all victims to be in "fair condition", reports

This includes a 23 year old woman who left the scene against medical advice. Four women, aged 54, 65, 30 and 23 and three young boys, aged 8, 11 and 17 - were all transported to hospital in 'fair condition'.

The Los Angeles Police Department warned drivers via X to expect delays around 12th Street for several hours as investigations continue.

Details about the car's driver have not been disclosed, and police have yet to confirm any arrests or suspicions of foul play. There was no suggestion that or contributed to the crash, nor whether the minivan's driver would face criminal charges.

Firefighters continued their efforts into the late afternoon to retrieve the minivan, which was lodged under a fallen patio awning, as per official reports.
