Milton Jones has shared a major health update after undergoing treatment for prostate cancer - and fans are breathing a sigh of relief. The 61-year-old stand-up, best known for his one-liners on Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats, was forced to cancel 11 tour dates earlier this year following his shock diagnosis. But in a new post online, Milton confirmed the news his fans had been hoping for and announced he is now cancer free and preparing to return to the stage.
"A few months ago, I had to stop my tour Ha-Milton because I needed treatment for prostate cancer," he said. "I'm glad to say I've had that treatment and am now cancer free! So, many thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped me get better - I couldn't do their job. I tried, but apparently you have to be qualified." Milton, who has built a career on quick wit and surreal gags, didn't hold back on the puns either.
"I have to admit there were a few dark moments when I wondered if anyone would ever see me again, but then I realised that I was leaning against the light switch," he joked.
Despite the private battle, he also took time to thank those around him: "A big thank you to my family, friends, all those who helped reschedule things and the many others who have been so nice to me."
He added: "Along with all those who have kept hold of their tickets for the shows that have been rescheduled and apologies to those whose shows we were unable to move."
Fans won't have long to wait. According to his official website, Milton will be back on the road from September 15, kicking things off at Stafford Gatehouse.
He's expected to perform across the UK until the end of December.

"Thankfully I'm now in a completely different place," he said. "And if you look at my website, you'll see that very soon I'll be in lots of other different places on tour too. I hope to see you there."
Fellow comedian Jon Richardson was quick to share his support, simply posting a heart emoji in response to the good news. BBC Five Live host Matt Chorley added: "Great news!"
Milton announced his next gig online as he's confirmed to appear at Fareham Live on Tuesday, 4th November, as part of his Ha-Milton tour.
One delighted fan responded to the news on X, sharing: "That's brilliant news, love-proper Yorkshire resilience and a good dose of luck. Here's to many more laughs and better health!"
Another penned: "Absolutely amazing news. Looking forward to going to see Milton Jones & Friends when they come to Dumfries in March next year."
