The CBS Sports' studio were stunned into silence by a comment made by pundit ahead of the semi-final clash between and . The show is known for being light-hearted, packed full of banter and jokes firing from all members of the panel.
However, a joke from Richards referencing an accidental slip-up he made earlier in the competition prompted the studio to fall into an awkward silence.
In September, their coverage fell apart when the ex-Manchester City star gloated to his fellow panellists Thierry Henry and that he had received 'sticky stuff' during their previous show - when the former captain was a special guest.
Beckham had gatecrashed the programme to discuss his own upcoming Champions League programme - which is set to debut tonight (Tuesday) - and brought presents for all of those on the panel.
Host Kate Abdo received a Manchester United shirt, with Carragher, Richards and Henry all receiving a post of honey. Reminiscing on the evening, Richards spoke about how he quickly developed a 'bromance' with Beckham before saying: "I got his sticky stuff as well didn't I?"
Carragher and Abdo instantly burst into laughter, with Henry hiding his face behind a piece of paper as he attempted to keep his composure. Richards responded: "The honey, Jamie. The honey! What is wrong with your minds? It says on the honey, 'David Beckham's Sticky Stuff."
Richards then referenced his harmless mistake on Tuesday night's coverage when Abdo was advertising Beckham's show ahead of the clash at the San Siro, where he will also unpack the Champions League drama as it unfolded. He asked: "Did he bring any sticky stuff?" before repeating his question two further times after Carragher insisted that he should repeat himself.
The pundits initially managed to keep their cool on this occasion though, with Henry and Carragher awkwardly staying silent before Abdo professionally replied: "You'll have to ask him. It's not something I would know." The panel then erupted into laughter when Carragher was asked what the issue was, to which the former Liverpool defender replied: "I'm saying nothing. I'm not getting cancelled on the Beckham show."
