Countryfile's Matt Baker and his other half, Nicola, have candidly spoken about experiencing periods of separation as she pursues a burgeoning career in writing, beyond the family farm. Beloved by audiences for their charming Channel 4 series, Our Farm in The Dales, the show gives a glimpse into the couple's lives tending sheep amidst the idyllic Durham countryside, an area close to where Matt grew up.
Until now, Nicola has balanced her professional life between physiotherapy and raising their children, with writing being a hobby. However, her literary endeavours have now taken off splendidly, resulting in three published children's books and more to come on the horizon. As they both navigate juggling their busy work lives, Matt and Nicola shared the details of their personal projects while speaking to ITV's Lorraine Kelly. The Scottish host asked about their independent careers, saying: "You go off doing your own thing writing the books, and you go off doing your own things around Britain, so there are times where you are apart. But don't you think sometimes that works?"
Discussing their separate paths, Matt revealed: "We're such doers in our lives, and we're so supportive of what each other wants to do, we've just found our way through."
Nicola has divulged how the couple treasures their time together amidst hectic lives, saying: "We make the most of the time that we have together and prioritise that - and make the most of that."
The pair's romance sparked unexpectedly when Matt was dazzling crowds at a disco in Cleethorpes over 20 years ago, leading to an enchanting wedding and happy family life with their children, Molly and Luke, who have seen their parents' bond deepen over the years, reports the Mirror.

On the literary front, Nicola enthralled readers with her debut children's book titled A Whistledown Farm Adventure: Finding Hope back in February last year, followed by two successful sequels, Rescuing Ruby and Meeting Meg, and fans are eager for her next work due later this year.
Matt, meanwhile, is poised to hit television screens again today as he teams up with Sammi Kinghorn to wander through East Devon on the newest episode of Countryfile.
Countryfile enthusiasts can also rejoice as Adam Henson returns to the screen, tending to the adorable spring newborns on his picturesque Cotswolds farm.
Make sure you catch all the rural delights on Countryfile, broadcasting this afternoon (Sunday, June 22) on BBC One at 5.25pm.
