A hit survival thriller has been made available to stream for free in the UK, and it's been described as "exceptional" by viewers. The Devil's Leap is a four-part TV drama which was first released in France in 2021.
It's now been added to Channel 4, meaning UK viewers can watch all episode for free with ads. Directed by Abel Ferry, the French-language crime thriller tells the story of a climbing guide who takes his teenage daughter on a hike in the French Alps.
However, things don't quite go to plan when his daughter witnesses a crime and he is forced to protect his daughter from the criminals, especially as he's a former member of the special forces.
The daughter, named Sara, is portrayed by Maïra Schmitt, while the father, Paul, is played by Philippe Bas. The cast is also made up of Armelle Deutsch, Laurent Maurel, Yann Pradal, and Olivier Sa.
The synopsis reads: "Climbing guide Paul takes his antagonistic teenage daughter Sara on a trek which pits them against killers after she witnesses a murder."

Upon its release, The Devil's Leap received mixed reviews from critics and fans, with it being awarded a user rating of 5.3 out of 10 on IMDb.
Some fans heaped praise on the thriller, highlighting Philippe's portrayal of Paul, while others branded it "predictable".
"I thought he played his role as a climber authentically. So I really bought into him that he can climb. He carried out the dialogues with his daughter relatively well. Solid performance," one viewer wrote about the actor in their review.
"An exciting [show] with beautiful exterior shots. It's enjoyable to watch without being a masterpiece," another fan said, while somebody else added: "Binge watching the French series The Devil's Leap starring Philippe Bas and Maïra Schmitt. The scenery is awesome."
In contrast, another viewer said it was "quite predictable" and wrote: "Since Vertical Limit in the 90s I am waiting for another movie to be on the same level of insanity of sorts. This is not it - but for a movie made for TV it is quite decent."
Another unimpressed TV fan described the show as "illogical" and "far-fetched".
However, Good Housekeeping's review of The Devil's Leap was glowing, with the publication describing it as "exceptional" and "exactly the sort of crime drama that's worth carving out time in your weekend for".
The Devil's Leap is available to stream on Channel 4.
