GB News host rips into Starmer after Trump announcement sparks bad news for taxpayers

US President Donald Trump is considering sending long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. The comments follow a phone call at the weekend between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who pushed for stronger military support to launch counter-attacks against Russia. GB News presenter Patrick Christys has since ripped into Keir Starmer as he suggested the Prime Minister will attempt to take credit for attempting to the end the Ukraine war with Russia.

It comes after Zelensky has said he will meet Trump in Washington on Friday for talks that will focus on air defence and long-range capabilities. The news comes just hours after the US President and the leaders of Egypt, Qatar and Turkey have signed a declaration for bringing peace to Gaza at a summit in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el- Sheikh. Israel is releasing 250 Palestinian prisoners and more than 1,700 other Palestinians detained during the two-year military operations in Gaza in exchange for the last 20 living Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

Speaking on his self-titled show, the Late Edition, Patrick addressed Trump sending long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine to use against Russia on Monday.

"Let's just say Trump does this... you know what's going to happen," he began, "Sir Keir Starmer is going to come out and say, 'Britain has played a leading role in the securing of the peace in Ukraine.'"

He went on: "So we're going to end up with British taxpayers money being spent on rebuilding Gaza. And Britain's military patrolling the Ukrainian-Russian border.

"Meanwhile, over here your taxes are going to go up, pensioners are being clobbered. Our borders are just open. We're securing Ukraine's borders and not our own."

Co-host Carole Malone suggested that despite Starmer's continued "promises" she doesn't believe he will send taxpayers' money overseas.

She commented: "I don't think he's going to do it. We're three trillion in debt. He won't just find [the money].

"What he might do is let Gaza refugees in here because that is easier for him. He doesn't have to pay for it, but we do."
