
Sophia Wenzler, a producer and presenter for , has announced she will return to screens and radio "towards the end of the year" as she is heading on maternity leave.
The news anchor took to X on Wednesday, May 28, to confirm her departure to her thousands of followers by writing: "Over and out for a little while at @GBNEWS as I am now on maternity leave. I look forward to being back on your screens and radio towards the end of the year."
Fans and co-stars flocked to the comments section to congratulate the journalist and wish her well, with fellow GB News host Emily Carver writing: "Enjoy being a mummy! You'll be missed!"
Another person wrote: "Have a joyous leave Sophia, good luck." A third added: "Oh wow, fantastic. Best wishes and well done. Thanks for giving us all a future, you are an inspiration. I hope all goes well. Kind regards."

It's the first X update Sophia shared in over a month, so fans were happy to hear from the popular reporter to learn of her exciting news.
Sophia has been part of the GB News team since 2023. Prior to joining the station, she was an assistant producer for Julia Hartley-Brewer's Breakfast Show on TalkTV.
The star has not shared any further details about her pregnancy with the public, so her due date and return date to GB News remain unknown.
